PAS has no plan to postpone its muktamar (general assembly) and party polls next year despite rumours that the 13th general election might be called soon, said its spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.

"There is no reason why PAS has to do so," he told reporters when met at his residence in Kampung Pulau Melaka near Kota Bharu today.

On his health, Nik Aziz said he was advised by doctors to rest at home and not to do a lot of movements involving the spine.

Nik Aziz, who was discharged from the Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital in Kubang Kerian on Tuesday where he was admitted for a back problem, said he would undergo a follow-up treatment at the hospital tomorrow.

Despite always seen being sick, Nik Aziz said he had no plans to resign as the Kelantan menteri besar as the job "does not entail physical efforts but rather thinking skills".
