The Performance Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu) in the Prime Minister's Department said today it had never appointed any individual, company or organisation to invite the public to deposit money with the promise of getting them grants for projects.

In a statement on its website, Pemandu warned the public to be wary of perpetrators claiming to offer them access to National Key Economic Areas (NKEA) or National Key Result Areas (NKRA) grants that were part of the Economic Transformation Programme or Government Transformation Programme (GTP), respectively.

"Pemandu would like to advise the public that it does not distribute grants via any individual, company, organisation, nor has it appointed any company to secure projects on its behalf.

"Anybody who has been requested to deposit a sum of money to secure such a grant is urged to make a police report at the nearest police station immediately," it said.

Meanwhile, a Pemandu source, when contacted by Bernama, said the agency would lodge a police report soon but declined to elaborate.

Pemandu was set up on Sept 16 last year to oversee implementation and assess progress of the GTP, and facilitate as well as support delivery of both the NKRAs and MKRAs (Ministerial Key Result Areas).
