Selangor MB awaits auditor's report
Selangor Mentri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said today he is waiting for a report from the Auditor General's Office before deciding on any action against alleged irregularities in the State Development Corporation.
Selangor Mentri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said today he is waiting for a report from the Auditor General's Office before deciding on any action against alleged irregularities in the State Development Corporation.
He said he had given the office three weeks to carry out a comprehensive audit of the corporation and submit a report which would be made public.
"After the report is made public, we will take any appropriate action necessary," he told reporters after chairing an state executive committee meeting.
Abdul Khalid (above) was commenting on allegations by state Umno information chief Abdul Shukor Idrus yesterday that the corporation had appointed three companies without adhering to regulations.
Several others were reported earlier to have made allegations of power abuse in the corporation.
Abdul Khalid also said the Selangor government would send a memorandum to the Yang diPertuan Agong on the issue of water supply to the state.
The state government wants to take over the function from the concessionaire Syabas, but Khalid said it was not getting the cooperation of the company or the federal government.
He hoped that the water issue would get the attention of the yang diPertuan Agong because water was a basic need, which he said should be seen as such rather than a business issue.
