Ex-aide to S'gor MB ordered to make defence

a charge of cheating.

a charge of cheating.
Judge Azhaniz Teh Azman Teh ruled that the prosecution had established a prima facie case against Yahya (left) who is alleged to have deceived Kumpulan Durul Ehsan Bhd chairperson Abdul Karim Munisar into giving him RM50,000 as donation to celebrate Pakatan Rakyat's 100 days in office on June 4 2008.
The judge, however, freed the 44-year-old Mohd Yahya of a charge of using a false document to open a bank account for the Selangor PKR at the Bandar Sungai Way Maybank branch on May 14 2008.
Twenty-eight witnesses had testified at the preliminary hearing including Selangor Mentri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
The judge set aside Feb 16 and 17 for the defence to present their case.
At today's proceedings, the prosecution was represented by Roziza Sidek of the Anti-Corruption Commission while Ahmad Nizam Hamid and T Suresh appeared for the accused.
