BN assemblyperson for Pulau Betong, Muhamad Farid Saad, has warned of legal action against Harakah if the PAS newspaper fails to apologize within two weeks for what he claims is an inaccurate report about him published on Nov 15.
Muhamad Farid claimed that the newspaper had distorted a statement he had made at a forum on Malay land in Penang.
"I have never stated that mistakes by the Umno leadership had resulted in dwindling Malay-owned land in Penang, as the newspaper had reported," he told reporters after attending a meeting of the Penang Umno liaison committee in Butterworth last night.
The meeting was chaired by Umno vice-president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is the chairperson of the committee.
Muhamad Farid said he had told the forum how important it was to find solutions to the problems of Malays in Penang.
