Azmin vows to scour PKR of 'traitors'

SusahKes: With due respects, Azmin Ali, I don't think PKR has the luxury of time to go after the "traitors". As it stands today, PKR doesn't have the organisational strength to undertake such an exercise. So what will you do if you find "traitors"? Will it be easy to deal with the issue?

Say you find a "traitor" and he goes to Utusan/Star/TV3 - does PKR have the means to deal with any fallout from the flushing-out activities?

In fact, PM Najib Razak will only be happy if you launch your witch-hunt now. All he needs is a little bit more chaos to add to the already chaotic state of PKR before he calls for the next general elections. How much time have you got - four or five months?

Why don't you go and check on your local councillors to see if they are performing? Isn't that why you lost Galas, Hulu Selangor and Batu Sapi because Pakatan failed to attend to local issues? I assure you - this is happening even as I write this comment.

Hidup Rakyats: For those who never been through the recent PKR party elections, please do not pour out your thought over here. I, too, will resign from PKR and tender my membership to PAS.

PKR is so disgusting. The leaders are fighting with each others like mad dogs, even in public. Party secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has denied all this. I was there supervising the election process. Dr Xavier Jayakumar even snatched the summary and did not allow the election officer to announce the result in Puchong.

Go on and deny my word. Marching to Putrajaya, they said. With this kind of attitude, you are not going anywhere. We want a party which fights for the betterment of the rakyat, not our own individual benefits. We must change the government, but first we must change our attitude.

Allan Kong: Azmin Ali, you will have to completely revamp the entire party. The virus of Umnoism is ever present. PKR members being ex-Umno members are infected with the virus. You have a tough job ahead of you.

A Voice From The Wilderness: Yes, rid PKR of all the deadwood and traitors. Simultaneously, you must not forget, this is the best opportunity for PKR to inject untainted new blood, new talents into the party administration, to be part of the policymakers and future leaders guided only by the trusted senior leadership.

It is not just party cleansing. There should be an overhaul.

Alan Goh: YB Azmin, clean up PKR not only of its traitors but the half-past-six members who are good only at rabble-rousing, who are there not to serve the rakyat but are only political opportunists.

Strengthen PKR with professionals of strong integrity, who are sincere in their political beliefs, like Dr Syed Husin Ali and YB Khalid Ibrahim the MB of Selangor, not experts in stealing monies from the rakyat's coffers and end up building huge RM24 million Balinese mansions or own commercial properties in US, Canada and London.

BTN: Azmin, you upheld reformasi when your leader Anwar Ibrahim was thrown in jail. You deserve the post as you were like a rock that Umno could not move when it mattered the most.

Traitors like Ezam Mohd Noor has come and gone. Look at him now, compared with you. You are an MP and now deputy president, unlike Ezam. Yes, please purge the party of traitors and if by doing so we lose a few battles, so be it. The main objective is to win the war.

Both sides should work hard to stop this from happening, and use tactics which induces such responses in the general elections, when the ballot box speaks.

A debate can only takes place when pointing fingers is not the basis of the whole debate, but everybody's allowing each other to speak and reply. Provocative-type questions should not be allowed by the moderator.

2,460 delegates to attend PKR congress

Ferdtan: It is heartening to note that out of the four vice-presidents elected, two are women: Nurul Izzah Anwar and Fuziah Salleh. Nowhere in any other political party can women candidates can outshine their male counterparts.

This is one step further to progress in eradication of gender discrimination, not only at party level but for the whole nation. Congrats ladies - now get back to work, no quarter allowed.
