About 100 Parti PKR members gathered at Dataran Shah Alam tonight, asking party adviser Anwar Ibrahim and its vice-president Mohamed Azmin Ali to leave the party.

The protest which started at 8pm, was held in conjunction with the "Selangor PKR Mass Gathering with Anwar Ibrahim" held at the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) auditorium which was also attended by the two leaders.

Former Selangor PKR treasurer KS Kottapan who led the protest, said it was also held following the party's top leaders' failure to address the complaints made on the party elections by several candidates and divisional leaders.

"Today, we demonstrate in front of the MBSA building to inform the party leaders our objection to the way the elections were conducted for divisional and central leadership positions.

"We have come from several divisions to protest against the party elections this time which we regard as dirty," he said.

Asked whether he would lodge a complaint with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, Kottapan said he would not do that as it involved the party's internal affairs.

However, he said he would apply for an injunction to prevent the party's central leadership council election from proceeding as his name which was listed on the party official website on Nov 18 as one of the candidates contesting for a post in the council, was now missing.

The protest gatherin tonight also saw a heated argument between Kottapan's supporters and about 40 PKR Youth members.

The gathering was dispersed by police about half an hour later.

20 in Sabak Bernam wants voting halted

Meanwhile, 20 PKR members in Sabak Bernam held a demonstration calling on their branch to stop voting in the central leadership council elections.

They also again protested against the outcome of the branch elections held last month, alleging that the voting process was confusing and irregular.

Candidate for branch chief Abdul Kadir Abdul Rashid, who lost to Dr Badrulamin Bahron, said the process was not transparent and the voting unfairly conducted.

"We want the voting for the central leadership council to be stopped because the election of the head of the Sabak Bernam branch is invalid," he said.

The branch elections on Oct 2 was marred by fighting and the throwing of chairs.
