BN assemblyperson for Paloh, Nozula Mat Diah, was suspended from the Kelantan state assembly sitting for a day after he repeatedly ignored an order to sit down and not interrupt proceedings.
Nozula had stood up to demand the retraction of what he felt was an offending statement by Abdul Fatah Harun (PAS-Bukit Tuku) when the latter interrupted Nik Mazian Nik Mohamed (PAS-Gaal) who was speaking during the debate on the state government budget for next year.
Nozula (right) repeatedly ignored the order of deputy speaker Mohd Zaki Ibrahim to sit down and insisted that Abdul Fatah retract his statement describing Umno as "najis dalam tandas" (faeces in the toilet).
When he remained standing and insisted on Abdul Fatah retracting the statement, Mohd Zaki ordered Nozula to leave the house and suspended him for a day.
Outside the house, Nozula, who was in tears, told reporters he was sad that Abdul Fatah had condemned Umno in such a way, but said he respected the speaker's decision to suspend him.
