The High Court here set Dec 28 for final case management of Anwar Ibrahim's RM10 million defamation suit against Deputy Education Minister Wee Ka Siong for allegedly uttering defamatory words.

The date was fixed by High Court Deputy Registrar Tengku Amalin A'-Ishah Putri Sultan Ismail Petra in chambers today, when the case came up for case management.

Anwar's lawyer SN Nair told the media that the court would set the hearing date on that day.

On April 18, 2008, Anwar filed the suit claiming that Wee had uttered defamatory words during the latter's campaign at a ceramah in the Machap-by election in 2007.

He said that defamation words were contained in an article entitled " Parties at their last leg of campaining " which was posted in the Malaysiakini website.

Anwar contended that the defamatory words by Wee were intentional and done in bad faith.
