Party information chief Idris Ahmad said he hoped the plan was not an attempt to increase the number of postal voters in the state.
“PAS is suspicious of the postal voting process in every general election because they are the fixed deposit for BN.
“We have always demanded that postal voting be abolished because we have evidence from former military personnel who say that they don’t know who marks their ballot papers,” he said.
The opposition has raised the issue of postal voters time and again as they claimed such voters could be deployed in marginal seats to give the ruling BN the edge. 
On Monday, it was reported that Selangor Rela aims to double its members from the current 153,000.
Selangor Rela director Khairi Mohd Alwee reportedly said that recruitment efforts would be stepped up including the mobilising of the Young Rela Brigade in all nine districts.
S’gor is BN’s goldmine
In a statement yesterday, Idris also issued a strong warning to the Election Commission to act impartially and not become a tool of BN.
Referring to the announcement that 18,493 ordinary voters that were turned into postal voters in the third-quarter electoral roll, particularly in Pakatan Rakyat states, Idris said the move was unfair. 
“PAS regards this as an attempt to ensure that Umno and BN’s ‘wall’ does not crumble and is fortified from a Pakatan ambush,” he said.
In relations to this, Idris urged PAS and Pakatan party workers in Selangor to regularly scrutinise the electoral roll in view of the impending increase in Rela’s numbers.
“The modus operandi by BN to take Terengganu in 2004 by increasing the number of voters is now being executed in Selangor.
“BN yearns for Selangor, compared to other states because the state is their goldmine and their oxygen tank,” he said.
