A group claiming to represent all 22 PKR division in Selangor has expressed its wish to see de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim being elected as the party president in the upcoming party polls.

As for the incumbent Dr Wan Azizah Ismail, the group said she should then helm the deputy president's post.

However, if this cannot be achieved, then the group wants status quo for the post of president and deputy president, which is held by Syed Husin Ali.

Spokesperson for the group called Majlis Muafakat Kepimpinan Keadilan Selangor (Selangor Keadilan Leadership Consensus Council), Abdul Kudus Omar said that this was the "understanding" among the 22 divisions in the state.

"If anything happens to Anwar... he might even go behind bars (and if) Wan Azizah is not there, there will be no one left to steer the party," said Abdul Kudus when contacted.

Earlier today, Abdul Kudus had held press conference in Petaling Jaya to publicly declare the group's stand.
