Star and New Straits Times headlined the news that Malaysia will not apologise to Indonesia over the spat involving the arrests of Indonesia sea border control officers and Malaysian fishermen, nor does it expect the republic to do so.

Malay newspapers

Utusan Malaysia led with news of more demonstrations being held in Jakarta over the sea border issue, with the Jalur Gemilang burnt and spat upon.

It also front-paged a photo of Serdang MP Teo Nie Ching speaking at a Kajang surau, before presenting donations from DAP. She was dressed in a short kebaya and did not cover her hair.

Selangor Islamic Department (JAIS) director Mohd Khusrin Munawi said  that this was wrong because non-Muslims are not supposed to enter a surau or mosque.

Berita Harian played up the news of immigration officers at the Pulau Ketam Jetty receiving bribes of up to RM60,000 a month to allow illegal Indonesian immigrants to pass through.

Sinar featured the joint-statement by Pakatan Rakyat leaders, saying that the attack on the coalition on the issues of religion and race as merely an Umno's ploy to hide its own weaknesses.

Editorial

New Straits Times said that Indonesia should make it clear that it does not support the "rabble rousers" protesting against Malaysia, to reciprocate Malaysia's restraint in handling the issue.

Berita Harian felt that civil servants should work harder to show thanks to the government which is caring enough to hand out RM500 duit raya to each civil servant and pensioner
