The Consumer Claims Tribunal in Sandakan today ordered Edaran Otomobil Nasional Berhad (EON) to refund RM210 to a customer for the purchase of a tyre and conduct another inspection on his car.
Tribunal president Reihana Abdul Razak issued the order after hearing the claim of one Chia Siew Mean for RM5,000 for the inconvenience he had allegedly undergone over a faulty tyre.
Chia, in his claim, said he had sent the car to the service centre for an inspection but the problem of the faulty tyre persisted.
He also claimed that he was not treated well by the staff at the centre after he had complained about the car following the inspection.
EON claimed that it had asked Chia to bring in his car for a second time but he did not show up.
It said a company representative apologised to Chia for any poor treatment by staff at the centre.
After hearing the explanation by both sides, Reihana ordered EON to make the refund within 14 days and to inspect Chia's car at a date to be agreed upon and to submit an official report within 14 days after the inspection.
