There is still lukewarm response, especially among individual citizens, in Sarawak towards the 'Fly the Jalur Gemilang' campaign launched early this month in conjunction with Merdeka month, state information director Resat Salleh said.
He said members of the public were encouraged to fly the national flag at their premises and on their vehicles to show their love for the country.
They should not wait to be given free Jalur Gemilang flags to do so as the price was still affordable, he told Bernama in Kuching.
However, Resat said he was satisfied with the response from government offices, schools and the private sector to the campaign.
He said the Sarawak Information Department would be distributing about 3,000 more Jalur Gemilang to the public.
The department would also choose a building or premises with the most creative Jalur Gemilang decoration to represent Sarawak at the national-level competition on Sept 16, he added.
