Selangor Umno Youth today sent additional documents to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in Shah Alam on the sand mining issue exposed by Selangor Umno liaison committee deputy chairperson Noh Omar last Saturday.

The Umno Youth information chief Safarizul Mustafa said the documents were sent along with official receipts related to the sale and purchase of sand in the state.

"We don't make accusations without proof. So, today we presented the evidence to the MACC for investigation," he told reporters.

He said Selangor Umno Youth had lodged reports earlier with the MACC on the sand mining issue, about two months after the matter was highlighted by Kapar MP S Manikavasagam of PKR.

Safarizul said the evidence was gathered from the Selangor Umno liaison committee, but declined to comment on the contents of the documents sent to the MACC.

Safarizul said Selangor Umno Youth would continue to obtain evidence on the sand mining issue to ensure that the truth prevailed, and urged Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim to consider the case seriously.

Last Saturday, Noh claimed that the party had proof of irregularities in the sale of sand by the state government subsidiary, Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd (KSSB).
