Friday will mark the first anniversary of the date that DAP political aide Teoh Beng Hock was found dead outside the building housing the Selangor office of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.

NONEHis sister Lee Lan (left in photo) said the family will conduct prayers at 10am outside Plaza Masalam in Shah Alam.

"We hope there won't be any obstruction to this and that everything will go smoothly," she said today outside the coroner's court which is holding an inquest into the death.

The family will also attend memorial activities to be organised on Friday and Saturday by the DAP.

"We hope to see everyone (there). Let's come together to support him in (the quest for justice)," she said.

'Not suicide'

Lee Lan also said her mother Teng Shuw Hui continues to reject the possibility that Teoh had committed suicide, as has been claimed.

NONETeng (right), holding back her tears, said: "Impossible. He would not commit suicide. He told me on the phone that no matter how late, he would come back home (to Malacca) on (July 17 last year)," she said, while holding a photo of her son.

"He wanted to shoot photos for his wedding album and register his marriage. He said he would come back with Lee Lan so she could help him pick out his wedding suit.

"He wanted to get married and see his child, so why would he commit suicide? If they (MACC) didn't take him (for questioning), he would have been married (by now) and would have seen his child born.

"He was an innocent and good man, but was killed by them. Why did they want to kill him?"

Teng has without fail been carrying a photo frame depicting Teoh all throughout the inquest hearing so that her son could "witness" the proceedings.
