Selangor economic adviser Anwar Ibrahim should be removed from office if it is true that he is a tool of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), said state Umno liaison committee deputy chairperson Noh Omar.

He said the state Umno would send a protest note on the matter to the Selangor government.

"We dare Anwar to prove that his alleged involvement in the CIA as claimed by a New York based blogger is not true.

"If it is true, it shows that Anwar is willing to destroy the country as long he achieves his ambition of becoming the prime minister," he told reporters after the launch of the Selangor Youth Day assembly and the 1Malaysia Youth Campaign in Kuala Selangor last night.

He was commenting on a claim by New York-based blogger Elaine Meinel Supkis (Culture of Life News) that Anwar was made a tool by the CIA to protect Washington's interest and covert operation in Kuala Lumpur.

"If the claim is true, Anwar should not meddle in the state's affairs. We are not willing to let our country destroyed by a foreign power through its tool," said Noh.

In another development, Noh, who is also agriculture and agro-based industry minister, questioned the Selangor government's motive over its refusal to cooperate with the federal government on land acquisition for the construction of the Langat 2 water treatment plant and the Pahang and Selangor raw water transfer project.

"The project was supposed to start in May but until today the Selangor government has kept mum on whether it wants to be involved in the project jointly with the federal government.

"It appears the state government places more importance on politics as it is a federal project, much to the detriment of the people in the Klang Valley," he said.

Noh said if the state government did not cooperate in the water project, Selangor would face water shortage from 2013.
