Utusan Malaysia focused on sand mining activities in Dengkil near the Paya Indah wetlands. It alleges that sand mining activities in Selangor had become uncontrollable.

The daily also quoted Special Affairs Department Scholars Panel member Lokman Nor Adam, as calling for PAS and Umno to work together so they can come up with similar Islamic policies.

Berita Harian also highlighted the sand mining case near the Paya  Indah wetlands, Selangor, alleging the state government agency in charge of the dredging business, Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd, had denied any knowledge of such activities.

Likewise, Sinar Harian also discussed sand mining activities in Kampung Bukit Changgang, Banting.
