The Sabah Umno Youth today lashed out at PKR vice-president Jeffrey Kitingan saying he should check himself first before interfering in the affairs of other parties.

Its chief Azman Ruslan said Umno need not be concerned over the attacks by Jeffrey on Umno and BN leaders.

"He can say what he wants about Umno or the BN because I believe he is desperate to divert the attention of the people from the crisis plaguing his own party.

"I don't think Umno or the BN are in any way affected by the statement of a leader who has a legacy of his own, including engaging in party-hopping," he told Bernama.

Azman was commenting on media reports yesterday quoting Jeffrey as saying that the BN chairperson had lost control of BN component parties.

He said that Jeffrey was a political wanderer who had difficulties controlling his own direction.

"Sabah Umno is of the opinion that Jeffrey is not qualified to talk about the affairs of other parties as he himself is uncertain about his own political direction," he said.

On claims that Sabah Umno was arrogant, Azman said: "Sabah Umno now has 449,805 members. If it is indeed true that Sabah Umno is arrogant, why does it have the highest number of members compared to other state Umno?"

Saying that Jeffrey was jealous of the people's warm response towards Umno, Azman said the PKR leader should instead concentrate on telling the people about his agenda to transform the lives of the rural people in the state.
