After successfully prodding Deputy Prime Minister and Umno deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin into saying that he is Malay first and Malaysian second, DAP supremo and Ipoh Timur parliamentarian Lim Kit Siang (below) today widened his war on Premier Najib Razak's ‘1Malaysia' by challenging more ministers with the same dare.

NONE"Let me challenge all the 17 Umno and BN ministers to stand up and be counted, to declare whether they are Malaysians first and Malays, Chinese, Indians, Kadazans or Ibans second, or the reverse," he said.

Speaking to reporters during a press conference at the Parliament lobby, Kit Siang said that thanks to Muhyiddin's actions, 1Malaysia had turned nationwide into an April Fool's joke.

"I never said that a person who regards himself as a Malay first and Malaysian second is not a Malaysian - but clearly he is not a 1Malaysian."

'Koh should resign'

NONELim also hinted that Koh Tsu Koon (left), as the minister responsible for the 1Malaysia Government Transformation Programme roadmap should resign as cabinet minister when the very rationale of his portfolio was destroyed by none other than the deputy prime minister.

Lim's challenge to Muhyiddin came after a protracted war of words between the DAP stalwart and deputy premier in the House over whether government ministers possessed the 'DNA' or characteristics of 1Malaysia.

The opposition veteran said that 1Malaysia was doomed to fail because the BN ministers themselves do not embody the principles being pushed forward by the PM.
