New Straits Times and Star front paged MCA president, Ong Tee Keat, who at the poorly attended annual general meeting yesterday in Kuala Lumpur, signaled that he would be defending his post in the party elections on March 28.

Malay newspapers

Utusan Malaysia led with its special reports from various political analysts examining the quality of Pakatan governance which they deemed a failure. They said DAP, PAS and PKR joined forces merely just to overthrow BN and their lack of experience in government was evident.

Berita Harian also led with MCA president, Ong Tee Keat indicating that he will defend his post in the upcoming party election.

New Straits Times opined that Iraq which began its second multi-party parliamentary elections yesterday, has made real progress in its transition to democracy and better governance. While there has been violence, it was less compared to the first elections in 2005.

Utusan Malaysia hoped that the MCA leadership crisis would be be resolved as soon as possible and that resignation of 21 MCA central committee members had paved the way for fresh polls which was good for the party as well as BN.

Berita Harian also wanted the MCA leadership crisis to be solved in a dignified manner and hoped that all MCA leaders would accept the results of the March 28 election.
