Police today recorded statements from Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's at his office and three other Pakatan Rakyat assemblypersons.

The police are investigating charges of illegal assembly and seditious remarks purportedly made during the recent Pakatan-organised ' Tolak fitnah ' forum and Chinese New Year open house activities.

Lim and the four assemblypersons were grilled by nine police officers from several police stations for about 40-minutes.

NONE Lim faces six investigations, including illegal assembly, sedition and criminal defamation.

The three Penang assemblypersons who had their statements recorded are Ong Khan Lee (Kebun Bunga), VS Raveentharan (Batu Uban) and Sim Tze Tzin (Pantai Jerejak).

Speaking to reporters later, Lim's lawyer RSN Rayer said in total, 10 Penang Pakatan leaders have been called for questioning by the police.

Of these, six of which have already had their statements recorded, including deputy chief ministers P Ramasamy and Mansor Othman , and exco members Abdul Malik Kassim and Chow Kon Yeow .

This was following 12 police reports lodged against them, 11 of which were lodged by the police themselves.

According to lawyer RSN Rayer, police reports have also been lodged against opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim for allegedly uttering words that were allegedly sub judice to his ongoing sodomy trial.

NONE Statements were recorded in a special transparent room set up by the state government to grant outsiders full view of process. 

Lim said the room was set up to protect his staff from any 'Teoh Beng Hock type-incident'. 

Meanwhile, twenty aides to the affected assemblypersons gathered at Lim's office to protest against the perceived 'political harassment' against Pakatan politicians and show support to the chief minister.
