PKR disciplinary board has postponed its hearing of the case against maverick party member Zulkifli Noordin, in order to consider objections he has raised.
 
Speaking to reporters after facing the board today, Zulkifli said he raised eight issues and that the panel needs time to consider it. The hearing will now be held on Thursday.

NONEZulkifli, who is Kulim Bandar Baru MP, refused to reveal details of his eight complaints.

Speaking to Malaysiakini this morning, among the right reasons, Zulkifli accused the party of double standards because party colleagues Wee Choo Keong and Zaid Ibrahim were not hauled up by the disciplinary board.

His other complaint was on whether the board can hear his case fairly since deputy president Dr Syed Husin Ali and Zaid had already criticised him openly. 

He expressed unhappiness with the board for failing to respond to his three letters - dated Feb 16, 23 and 27 - detailing these issues.

To a question, Zulkifli pledged allegiance to PKR and said he would not quit, and brushed off a question as to whether he was trying to get himself sacked.

"Why should I want to be sacked? I can sack myself," he said.

Zulkifli reiterated that his woes in PKR was the result of 'little pharaohs', a phrase which he coined to describe his detractors, out to do him in.
 
"They fabricated many allegations and stories. Till this morning, they still said I will resign from the party.
 
"Today I give my promise that I will not quit but instead fight them (little pharaohs). But if they sack me (from the party), what can I do?" he asked.
 
Zulkifli said he has always maintained a rosy relationship with PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim but will not allow their friendship to influence the ongoing disciplinary hearing.
 
"He is my friend. He is like my brother," said Zulkifli of Anwar.
 
He said Anwar was not aware of the existence of the 'little pharaohs' because they were 'too little' but warned that they are dangerous.
 
"They are like termites. By the time you realise it, your house would have collapsed," he said.
 
On Nibong Tebal MP Tan Tee Beng's quitting PKR, Zulkifli said he was "disappointed" but offered his theory that Tan may have reached a stage where he could no longer compromise with Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.

'Considering joining DAP'

However, he denied allegations of him having a hand in Tan's resignation.
 
NONEZulkifli also declined comment on allegations by former PKR secretary-general Salehuddin Hashim that more than 10 PKR MPs will quit.

When asked that if he was one of them, Zulkifli replied: "I don't know."

On whether he is being approached by other parties, Zulkifli jokingly said only one party was doing so and that it was DAP.

"Lim tried very hard to convince me to become their chairperson. I'm considering it," he quipped.

He also denied telling Malaysiakini on the phone this morning that he would not attend the hearing because the board had not responded to his letters.

"This is the work of little pharaohs," he said.

Earlier, Zulkifli took reporters by surprise by arriving at the PKR HQ on a small motorbike.
