Zambry Abdul Kadir said he accepted the Federal Court's decision today declaring him as the rightful Perak menteri besar with gratitude and humility.

He said he hoped that the matter would end with the people in the state united regardless of their political ideology, and that he would perform his duties to the best of his ability.

Zambry was speaking after attending a meeting between all the menteri besar and chief ministers and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak at the Prime Minister's Office today.

"I thank the people in Perak and elsewhere in the country who have prayed for justice and prosperity for the state. This is the time for us to unite and to work hard."

Najib's advice

Asked about the prime minister's advice for him, Zambry said Najib hoped that the agenda for the people would be carried out.

On the possibility of the opposition continuing to create problems in the state, he said it was now time for work and not carry on politicking.

On former menteri besar Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin's statement that the court's decision was expected and planned, Zambry said it was inconsistent with Nizar's earlier statements.

"Let him say what he likes. The people know better. They can judge his statements throughout the process before the court's decision. For me, what is more important is for all quarters, including Nizar, to work for the well-being of the state."
