The Kuala Lumpur police are defending a policeman's decision to shoot at a car, in which a woman and three others were travelling in at the Middle Ring Road 2 in October last year.

The policeman was discharging his duty according to the law and the woman knows what had happened, said Kuala Lumpur police chief Muhammad Sabtu Osman.

"She can say what she likes but she should know who she was with and the manner the car was in at the time of the incident...

"She know all about it and we know our man was not in the wrong," he told reporters after officiating the Kuala Lumpur police contingent's monthly assembly today.

A 30-year-old woman complained to PKR yesterday, claiming that the car she and her friends was travelling in was shot at by a policeman in a patrol car on Oct 30 last year.

The single mother alleged that she and her friends were roughed at by the policemen when they stopped and she was treated for injuries on her abdomen.

Muhammad Sabtu said the woman could take the case to the court as the police had strong grounds in taking the action.
