Identifying himself as Loo, the hunter said, “It is possible that the four heads were picked up from the hunting ground where they had been dumped because even for a sharpshooter it would take one to two hours to hunt down and kill a single boar.”
“We normally remove the boar’s head, stomach and skin for convenience in transporting,” he said.
When asked where the boar heads might have come from, Loo replied: “There are many hunting grounds like Hulu Langat and Hulu Klang but Puchong could be a possibility, too.”
However, he also did not rule out the possibility that the heads could have been bought from hunters or Orang Asli.
Avoiding detection
Federation of Livestock Farmers' Association of Malaysia (FLFAM) Pig Unit chairperson Beh Kin Hee explained that domestic pig heads can be traced to the farms of their origin, so that could be the reason that boar heads were used instead.
“One week after the piglets are born, their ears are notched to identify the original farm,” Beh said.
He added that a special request would be required to purchase a whole pig head as the normal procedure for a slaughterhouse is to slice the head in half before sending them to the market.
The boar heads were found in the compound of Masjid Jumburiyah in Taman Dato Harun and Masjid Al-Iman Al-Tirmizi in Taman Seri Sentosa yesterday.
The desecration has sparked outrage from both sides of the political divide, prompting a joint statement of condemnation from the government and opposition.
