MACC urged to investigate corruption in GLC

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) was today asked to investigate corruption and power abuse involving a government-linked company's subsidiary firm worth about RM160 million.

1Malaysia Graduates Club secretary Ezaruddin Abd Rahman said they received information that corruption in the 50-year-old company had been occurring since 2006.
The memorandum claimed that tenders awarded did not follow procedure and were given to a company which had the interest of one of its board members, among others.
Ezaruddin said four names of those involved were also mentioned in the 50-page memorandum.
"We hope legal action and in-depth investigations will be carried out on the subsidiary," he told reporters after handing the memorandum to MACC enforcement senior assistant superintendent, Azlin Mohd Ali, in Putrajaya.
He added that the matter will also be forwarded to the Prime Minister's Department later.
