The PAS disciplinary committee will hear testimonies from Selangor PAS commissioner Hasan Ali and his estranged former deputy Khalid Samad next month over two separate complaints.

pas seminar 071109 tuan ibrahimDisciplinary committee chairperson Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man (right) told Malaysiakini that Khalid’s hearing will be on the evening of Jan 7, while Hasan will testify in the morning of Jan 9.

According to Tuan Ibrahim, Hasan is being probed for “actions which are detrimental to Pakatan Rakyat”.

On the other hand, Khalid (below) is being investigated for “making statements which undermines the state leadership”.

NONEThe duo were served show-cause letters following complaints by party members.

The hearing will take place at the PAS headquarters in Kuala Lumpur and should no other witnesses be needed, a decision can be reach a few hours after each hearing.

“It is not likely for us to call more witness (based on current circumstances),” said Tuan Ibrahim, who is also PAS vice-president.

They can appeal

Should the duo be found guilty they can be penalised in the following ways - served a written warning, stripped of party posts, serve a suspension or be sacked from the party.

“Based on party regulations, (a person) can appeal should they be found guilty,” stressed Tuan Ibrahim.

Hasan has been cast in controversy over his apparent inclinations towards his former party Umno, since the Selangor BN state government was voted out in March last year.

As it was increasingly clear that a Umno-PAS alliance was off, Hasan was subsequently blamed both by PAS members and Pakatan allies for sowing discord in Selangor chapter of Pakatan.

NONEAmong others, he has had public run-ins with the Selangor Competency, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat) committee, state assemblyspeaker Teng Chang Khim and fellow executive council member Ronnie Liu (right).

Hasan, a state cabinet member, was even accused of trying to topple his boss, Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

Meanwhile, Shah Alam parliamentarian Khalid is one of Hasan’s staunchest critic and a huge proponent of Pakatan.
