The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) has also taken on the role of the "Pied Piper" and is offering a reward of RM1 for each rat caught around the Section 16 apartment complex in conjunction with its 3K (cleanliness, health and recycling) campaign at the complex today.

Its deputy mayor Mohtar Hani said the reward was to serve as a motivating factor for the residents to go all out to rid the area of the rodents in the one-day campaign from 9.30am.

"We will reward RM1 for each rat's tail brought to us in our effort to make the apartment complex, the first to be built in Shah Alam, rodent-free," he told reporters after launching the campaign.

He added that more such campaigns would be held from time to time.
