Flood conditions in Kelantan worsens

Flood conditions in Kelantan continued to worsen as the number of flood victims rose sharply from 203 last night to 344 this morning following heavy rain in Hulu Kelantan as a fourth wave of floods hit the East Coast state.

Kelantan flood operations room spokesperson said among those affected were 285 in Pasir Mas and 59 in Kuala Krai.
"Areas affected are Pasir Mas, including Kampung Kedai Lama, Kedap and Rantau Panjang while in Kuala Krai, Banggol Guchil area was affected," he told Bernama today.
The spokesperson added that the water level at Sungai Golok in Rantau Panjang continued to rise above the danger level 9m as the morning reading recorded was 10.10m.
He added that the Jalan Rantau Panjang-Panglima Bayu road and the road at KM11 Kampung Kubang Rambutan were closed for light traffic.
