Prime Minister Najib Razak wants to see the MCA's internal problems resolved as soon as possible so that the BN component party can start its recovery process.

He said all the feuding factions in the party had now agreed to have e-elections but the problem was the date.
"We want the MCA to resolve its problems and recover fast. We can only facilitate in finding a solution, but it (the party) must be comfortable with it," he told reporters here today.
Najib, who is also BN chairman, was commenting on his meeting with his deputy, Muhyiddin Yassin, and MCA secretary-general Wong Foon Meng in Kuala Lumpur last night after his return from Trinidad and Tobago.
Earlier, Najib witnessed the signing of contracts and memorandums of understanding between the government and private companies at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (Lima) 2009 in Langkawi.
Present were former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Defence Minister, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Chief of Defence Forces Gen Azizan Ariffin.
Najib declined to elaborate on last night's meeting and instead asked everyone concerned to wait for the outcome of the MCA central committee meeting today.

e was also asked to comment on former Malayan Communist Party (MCP) secretary-general Chin Peng's intention to meet him during his visit to southern Thailand next week.
He said there was no need for a meeting.
It was reported that the former MCP leader, who now resides in Thailand, wants to meet the prime minister to voice his intention to return to Malaysia.
Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, when asked for comment yesterday, said Chin Peng must go through the same procedure as everybody else before he could be allowed to meet the prime minister.
