PAS leader Nasharuddin admitted for observation

PAS deputy president Nasharuddin Mat Isa was rushed in an ambulance to the National Heart Institute (IJN) after he complained of chest pains.

Nasharuddin who was attending the Dewan Rakyat sitting this morning was first taken to the in-house clinic.

However, after putting him through an electrocardiogram (ECG) test, the doctor could not identify the cause of the pain.

Nasharuddin, who is also the Bachok MP, was then referred to the specialist centre.

He was then pushed to a waiting ambulance on a wheelchair, accompanied by Pokok Sena PAS MP Mahfuz Omar.

When approached by reporters, Mahfuz said Nasharuddin "initially complained of a muscle pain in the chest and after an examination at the clinic, he was advised to go the IJN for further examination."

Mahfuz, who visited Nasharuddin at the IJN, said an ECG test done on the latter at the heart hospital found that Nasharuddin could be suffering from muscle pains.

Nasharuddin, 47, has been admitted overnight for observation.

"He needs to be admitted for further examinations but I assure you that there is nothing serious about it," said Mahfuz.
