The former pro-tem chairperson of the 'Save MCA' campaign pointed out that the supposed "snoop squad" acted as the catalyst for the current party leadership tussle.
Theng (left) told reporters today that he has strong evidence to back his claims as it affected his client, Wong Leong.
The "snoop squad" is alleged to be the brainchild of former president Ong Ka Ting formed to hunt and dig up dirt on his party rivals two years ago.
The squad's members were said have comprised current MCA vice president Liow Tiong Lai, Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Wee Jeck Seng, and Tee Ann Chuan.
However, it was dismissed as a hoax by a three-man panel set up by the party last year as no evidence of the existence of a snoop squad, or Ka Ting's involvement, was found.
Revealing a set of three thick documents said to contain details of what took place during the inquiry by the panel, Theng said, "We want to do justice for my client Wong Leong as the panel finding says that Wong is uneducated. It is not fair to say that my client is telling lies.
"The snoop squad is also the cause of today's problems in MCA."
Wong happens to be the person who lodged a report on the existence of the squad a couple of years back.

Theng, who is a lawyer for Wong, said that the internal documents tallied with the claim made by his client on the squad.
He also said the documents were dropped off at his office anonymously two weeks ago, and he believes that they are the panel's investigation reports.
Theng added the documents raised question marks over the committee's dismissal of the mysterious squad.
"We want the president to step in and start fresh investigations to get to the root of the problem," he said, adding that invisible hands cannot be allowed to control the party.
He insisted that the 'invisible hand' must be caught as it is the source of the current problems.
