Election Commission (EC) deputy chairman Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said there is no duplication of names in the Bagan Pinang electoral roll as claimed by PAS.

"We have scrutinised the Bagan Pinang electoral roll and can assure that the duplication of names does not exist," he told Bernama when contacted today.

Wan Ahmad was commenting a PAS proposal seeking a court injunction to prevent 253 postal voters from casting votes tomorrow claiming there was duplication of names in the electoral roll.

PAS secretary-general Mustafa Ali made the claim during a meeting with EC chairman Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof in Putrajaya today.

Wan Ahmad said PAS had given EC a list of names said to be duplicated in the Bagan Pinang electoral roll.

Meanwhile, Mustafa said the party was considering whether it was practical to apply for the injunction since the postal votes would be cast tomorrow.

"We will discuss the matter with our lawyers," he said.
