Perak Pakatan Rakyat is planning to hold a massive gathering in Lumut on Oct 24 to celebrate Aidilfitri and at the same time call for the dissolution of the state's legislature.

State PAS Youth chief Zawawi Hasan said some 10,000 members from the opposition Pakatan coalition in the state were expected to attend the gathering which would begin at 11am.

"During the gathering, Pakatan will call for the state assembly to be dissolved to pave the way for a fresh election," he told reporters today.

He added that PAS would be applying for a police permit to hold the gathering.
