The date for MCA's much awaited Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) is expected to be announced in two or three days said its vice president Liow Tiong Lai today.
"President (Ong Tee Keat) has asked the secretary-general to set the date for only one EGM although sacked former Deputy President Dr Chua Soi Lek had garnered 921 signatures to call for an EGM," he told reporters today.
Liow added that the secretary-general would discuss with both Ong and Chua to set the date for the single EGM.
He added that the EGM need to be held soon to resolve the ongoing spat so as to avoid a split in the party.
The MCA internal crisis started when Chua was sacked from the party on Aug 26 for his involvement in a sex-video scandal.
