NONEPort Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) turnkey developer Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd (KDSB) owner Tiong King Sing was called by Police today to give a statement over the PKFZ scandal.

The four-hours of questioning was done at the Federal Police Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) headquarters in Kuala Lumpur this morning.

CCID Chief Koh Hong Sun confirmed to reporters via phone that Tiong was called to have his statement recorded.

However, he refused to disclose on which matter the department was investigating or under which law Tiong was called to make a statement.

Reporters camped outside the CCID headquarters since this morning saw Tiong enter the CCID premises at around 10am this morning and leaving at 2.05pm in his tinted-glass silver Mercedes Benz.

Although photographers surrounded the car, Tiong did not stop for photographs.

No comments, probe still on

Tiong later released statement through his press secretary to confirm that the questioning was in relation to the PKFZ debacle.

"I'm more than willing to cooperate with the police. I will give full cooperation," Tiong said in the statement.

However, he refused to make further comments as the investigations are still pending.

The Bintulu MP is also the Barisan Nasional backbenchers committee chairperson.

His company, KDSB, had been alleged to have made an illegal claim of RM1.4 billion in the PKFZ project.

The Port Klang Authority (PKA) had lodged reports with both the police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) against KDSB.

Prime Minister Najib Razak yesterday announced that the cabinet decided to establish a super task force, headed by Chief Secretary to the government Mohd Sidek Hassan, to investigate the PKFZ scandal which was previously investigated by the Transport Ministry headed by Ong Tee Keat.
