Over 50 Makkal Sakti Party supporters here have called on the DAP-PKR-PAS opposition pact to stop creating disturbance and upheaval in the state as a situation of instability will only cause hardship to the people.

They want the opposition pact to understand that "the people in the state want peace and harmony, which has been disrupted by the opposition's foolish actions aimed at serving their own political interest".

"Let the people in Perak live in peace. Stop disturbing the peace. Your (opposition) disruptive actions are only making life difficult for the people," the group's spokesman LS Mahindran told reporters here.

He said if the opposition pact wanted to take over the state government, they should just wait for the next general election in about three years' time from now.

Mahindran said the Makkal Sakti group in Perak had been supportive of the BN state government under the leadership of Zambry Abd Kadir since three months ago as they realised how sincere the BN menteri besar had been in trying to solve the people's problems regardless of their political affiliation.

Said N Ramu, a Makkal Sakti supporter from Batu Gajah: "For example, we told him (Zambry) that there were 38 families without a land title. He set out to help them until 11 Malay and 27 Indian families obtained land. However, it was erroneously reported that the opposition had helped them."

"As ordinary residents, we feel how important it is to support this present BN state government, which is very different from the opposition which prioritises its own political interest," said G Muniandi, another Perak Makkal Sakti supporter.

"We don't need to talk about the previous BN state government, but we find it easier to deal with this current state government. The menteri besar has been very helpful. He shows how to solve problems in the best possible way," he added.

The group also refuted the posting in a pro-opposition blog which labelled them thugs who were rewarded for disturbing the Sept 2 ‘assembly sitting’ held by the opposition.

Ramu said he regretted the baseless accusations and abusive words used by the blogger against them, and the claim that they had each received RM50 as reward for the incident.

"Don't write nonsense. On that day, we did not create any disturbance and we did not get any reward," he said.
