Ken: I'm all for an independent body to certify ISA detention to ensure that it is never used for political purposes but is there any independent body left in Malaysia? Will they be like MACC advisers - silent lapdogs in the face of scandalous wrongdoings? Unless this "independent body" consist of a majority of opposition politicians, I'm not convinced.

Jacob George: There is a difference in being an honest professional doing his/her duty without ‘fear or favor' and another being a political lapdog! Let us first see in motion the rule of law, the separation of powers, the independence of the judiciary and other organs of the government.

Khor Joo Hong: KJ, why only now? So that the "50 residents of Section 23" can get detained by Kerismuddin, appeal one day later and get released the next day, right? Give an honest answer to this, and I might just believe that your intention is genuine.

Hisham's defence of protesters 'unbelievable'

Cheah Hooi Giam: Hishammuddin Hussein's defense of the 'cow head' protestors is not tenable. No sensible Malaysian can see the 'cow head' protests as anything but shameful and un-civilised. Some protestors even threaten violence. It can't be difficult identifying the protestors and they must be prosecuted, according to the law.

Disgusted: How could such a disgusting act be tolerated by the police! The residents protested against the temple because the area has a Malay majority population. So does it mean that we cannot have any places of worship at all for the non-Malays as Malaysia has a majority Malay population? What a joke Malaysia has become.

Tan Teng Wah: Arrogance of the worst kind! But never argue with a recalcitrant bloke. Then again, on the bright side, isn't he doing Pakatan Rakyat a grand favour by hastening the demise of BN? Hishammuddin has displayed too many times his true colours, one of which is the wielding of the keris. He prefers to dig his own grave, so let him continue.
