Seven members of the notorious K9 (Kristal9) Ah Long (loan shark) gang have been served with two-year detention orders and will be held at the Machang and Simpang Renggam detention centres.

Selangor CID chief Datuk Hasnan Hassan said five would be held in Machang, Kelantan and the other two in Simpang Renggam, Johor.

Detention started yesterday

"Their detention at the respective centres was effective yesterday," he said in a statement in Kuala Lumpur today.

The gang was responsible for "jailing" three borrowers at a shop lot in the Bukit Serdang in May.

The victims were chained like animals in their cells for defaulting payments. - Bernama
