Ethnic Indians in the country are angry. Those who are Hindus have even more reason to be so after the despicable act which is smacks of racial bigotry and with intention to incite hatred amongst the people of Shah Alam.

The words uttered were seditious but we do not see the Attorney General's chambers issuing statements saying that the perpetrators should be charged under the Sedition Act.

We do not see police warning the protesters that action will be taken immediately against them for the humiliating act when the PM is going around the world trying to sell his 1Malaysia concept.

The police could have acted with lightning speed but they had refused to do so, indirectly wanting to send a message to the Selangor Pakatan administration that they are not happy.

So the message is that ethnic Indians in Shah Alam do not deserve a place to worship because the majority of the Muslims living around do not respect and recognise such right.

Does that apply to all of Malaysia? If that is the case, then the famous Batu Caves will not be left out.

There can never be 1Malaysia until all government departments and enforcement agencies see beyond race and religion.

If Pakatan manages to oust the BN government from its federal seat of power, it may find its next nemesis in the bureaucracy or the civil service who have long been fed with racist propaganda.

It is stupid to allow acts of racial bigotry on one hand and then call for the walls that divide us to be brought down on the other. The people are not stupid anymore, thanks to what we now know as citizen journalism.

Their acts are immediately caught on video and sent around the world for all interested parties who want to know what actually Malaysia is doing to address its ugly racist mentality.

The excuses given by the Selangor police just goes to show that the police themselves are nothing but bigots. Can we compare this to how violent they were when the Hindraf protest took place in 2007?

It was a peaceful rally too, just a small speech and a handing over of a memorandum. Why was the police armada more like a battalion ready for war? Was it because a suppressed minority had finally woken up after five decades of deep slumber?

The provokers of racial hatred know very well that such an act cannot be done to the Chinese who still have economic clout. But the Indians can always be sidelined because they are not as powerful as the ethnic Chinese economically.

Till today the federal administration is unable to reply to the opposition whenever it questions them on the fairness of giving vast tracks of land and even strategically located hills and islands to powerful ethnic Chinese business tycoons.

Instead, the government finds fault with the Perak Pakatan leadership when it converted land titles for the rural Chinese who have been living and working on the land for 2-3 generations.

The MIC should have been adamant about the incident, but will probably still pander to the whims of Barisan's most powerful party.

No amount of sloganeering, public relation crafting and mainstream news media propaganda is going to work to make the people unite until all are equal before the law.

If the severed cow's head is what 1Malaysia is all about, then dream on. I would like to see the day when the Malays openly attend functions at Hindu temples upon invitation of their Hindu brethren and celebrate as Malaysians.
