A Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission officer told the coroner on the 16th day of inquest into Teoh's death, that the political aide looked restless when they raided the Selangor State Secretariat office.

The officer, Mohd Najeib Ahmad Walab, the 18th witness called to assist in the inquest, said a team of five MACC officers led by Acting Superintendent Mohd Anuar Ismail went to the office of Seri Kembangan assemblyperson Ean Yong Hian Wah, who is also a state executive councillor on July 15.

When they could not find anything at the Seri Kembangan service center in Jalan Sekolah, they went to the Selangor state secretariat office at 3pm that day.

He added that they went straight to Ean's office on the 15th floor where he introduced the team to Teoh.

"Teoh then led us to a meeting room where he looked restless (gelisah)," said the witness.

To questions from government appointed lawyer Tan Hock Chuan, Mohd Najeib said at the meeting room, Mohd Anuar asked for the documents related to the service centre projects.

Mohd Najeib, 29, said Teoh had only given the 2009 planned projects documents however when told they wanted the previous year's file, he obliged.

"When Mohd Anuar told Teoh, that they felt these were not the only documents, the political aide just kept quiet," he said, adding Mohd Annuar then instructed him to keep a close watch on Teoh's table which had a a desktop computer and a laptop.

Mohd Najeib then said suddenly Ean arrived with about 20 journalists which prompted him to instruct his officers to move to the basement to avoid them.

After 10-15 minutes, the witness said the team decided to return to the 15th floor and met with Teoh again.

"We inspected Teoh's laptop and also desktop computer. Teoh was co-operative."

"While inspecting, the desktop, we found four documents relating to seeking donations for the Seri Kembangan constituency. In the laptop, we found the four invoices regarding works done within the Seri Kembangan constituency," Mohd Najeib said.

Laptop and CPU seized, documents printed

Mohd Najeib said Mohd Anuar decided to seize the two computers after Ean came again accompanied by journalists and lawyers.

"Mohd Anuar then filled in a seizure form and showed it to Ean. Teoh agreed to bring the two equipment to the MACC office," he said.

The witness said the team reached the MACC office about 6pm with Teoh arriving in his own car several minutes later.

He said that Mohd Anuar then at about 8pm instructed him to printout the four invoices and four other documents relating to the donations letter. One of the donation letters pertained to donations for a house owner whose property was burnt down and another for hawkers.

"I inquired Teoh for the passwords for his laptop and CPU which he gave willingly. Then I went to print the documents from the administration division."

The witness also testified that another MACC officer had also asked him for another printout at about 11pm and he left the building at about 2.30am on July 16.

Witness: Teoh feeling uncomfortable

The lawyer representing Teoh's family, Gobind Singh Deo then harshly grilled the witness focusing on his testimony that Teoh looked restless.

Gobind: What do you mean Teoh was restless (gelisah)?

Mohd Najeib: He was uncomfortable, his body language showed he felt uncomfortable with the MACC's officers presence.

Gobind: Why was he uncomfortable? I think you would also be uncomfortable if someone barges into your office and asks for documents.

Mohd Najeib: I do not know.

Gobind: He was uncomfortable because of your presence?

Mohd Najeib : Yes

Gobind: Did you ask him why he was uncomfortable?

Mohd Najeib: No

Gobind: Are you sure he was feeling uncomfortable? Would you have rendered assistance to Teoh if he had requested it?

Mohd Najeib: If he had asked I would've certainly helped. But I was not instructed to do so.

Witness: Did not hear quarrelling in gents

Later, Gobind also grilled the witness on whether he had heard Teoh quarrel with Kajang municipal councillor, Tan Boon Wah, like Mohd Anuar had testified yesterday that an officer saw and heard them quarrelling at the gent's.

Gobind: You said you left at about 2.30am on July 16. Did you hear Teoh being assaulted?

Mohd Najeib: No, the place was quiet.

Gobind: As you were about to leave and pass the gent's toilet, did you hear a quarrel there?

Mohd Najeib: No

To questions from Ean's counsel Salim Bashir, Mohd Najeib said they went to Selangor state secretariat office without a search warrant.

The witness agreed that they ambushed the office and later issued a notice of seizure in confiscating Teoh's laptop and CPU.

The hearing continues before coroner Azmil Muntapha Abas tomorrow.
