Rohaizat rubbishes second wife claim
Barisan Nasional's Permatang Pasir by-election candidate Rohaizat Othman today denied allegations that he has a second wife.

Nasrudin (right) claimed that Rohaizat married Hafizah in 2005, while she was working as head clerk at Rohaizat's law firm and registered their marriage in 2008.
According to to Nasrudin, Hafizah who had been working for eight years at the firm has demanded that Rohaizat "admit that she is his second wife".
"She is treated as a mistress, not given adequate nafkah (subsistence) and is being treated unfairly," said Nasrudin.
While saying that it was not his intention to interfere in Rohaizat's family issues, Nasrudin nevertheless wants Rohaizat to come clean in the interest of the public.
'An injustice to his wife'
"I'm asking Rohaizat to explain the injustice that he has committed. This is not proper for leader who wish to lead the people," he said.
"He must sort out his own family problems, before attempting to get involved in politics and solve the problems of the people of Permatang Pasir."
Rohaizat (left in photo), who has been the target of PAS campaign, however, denied the allegations, saying that it was all "a blatant lie".
The BN candidate is already under pressure to withdraw from the polls after news of his disbarment as an advocate and solicitor surfaced last week.
Rohaizat was found guilty of misconduct by the Bar Council when he failed to return RM161,000 belonging to his client after a deal went sour.
"I don't have a wife by the name of Hafizah... my wife is Khairul Niza Abdul Razak and I never got married in 2005," Rohaizat told reporters.
"This is a blatant lie... I don't have a wife by that name and I have one wife only," he repeated.
Assassination of character
Asked if this latest allegations is hurting his campaign, Rohaizat said: "It does not worry me but I ask PAS and the opposition to stop making baseless allegations."
However, when speaking at a ceramah at the heart of the constituency in Kubang Semang last night, Rohaizat acknowledged that his opponents were going all out to destroy his reputation.
"PAS uses personal attacks as tactics... they are employing all means to assassinate my character," said Rohaizat.
"This is all they can do and talk about... PAS has been in power here for 15 years and what have they done to ensure that there is development?" he asked.
"In their election promises, they never talk of upgrading this place. They don't even have a vision or mission to bring about any development here," said Rohaizat.
Addressing about 200 people, Rohaizat said he was fed up with attempts to tarnish his image, and is contemplating legal action against making baseless allegations.
"They are asking me to withdraw (but) it is because they are afraid... maybe they know their chances of winning in Permatang Pasir is slim," he said.
