Tiong: Why should I apologise?

Tiong King Sing said there was nothing for him to apologise for to MCA president Ong Tee Kiat who lodged a police report against the tycoon and owner of Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd.

Ong filed a police report against the tycoon-cum-parliamentarian for claiming that he had 'donated' RM10 million to the transport minister.

Ong had also instructed his lawyers to issue a legal notice to the Bintulu MP, asking him to retract his allegation and issue an apology.

"Why should I apologise?" asked Tiong (right). "Based on what reason should I apologise?"

According to China Press which interviewed Tiong, who is also Barisan Nasional (BN) Backbenchers Club chairperson, he refused to retract his statement about Ong.

He reiterated his claim that he 'donated' RM10 million to help to rebuild MCA for sake of ‘the community and in the spirit of brotherhood.'

"We are Chinese, I don't want to see MCA dispirited. I donated RM10 million to help MCA," said Tiong.

He said he was disappointed with Ong for denying having received RM10 million in donations from him.

"Honestly, I was disappointed when they said I don't any evidence. Don't say it too loud, God is watching what you are doing."

Meanwhile, MCA deputy president Chua Soi Lek (left) said Ong made the right move in lodging the police report against Tiong.

"The police can investigate whether Tiong's claim is true or if he is trying to divert attention from the PKFZ scandal as claimed by Ong.

"I urge party member to remain calm, don't indulge in wild speculations," he said.. "Let the police complete their investigation before we make any comment."

When asked why he was not at Ong's press conference today, attended by almost all MCA leaders, Chua said: "Nobody informed me. How am I to attend?"
