One elite group + others = 1Malaysia

1Malaysia BN-style is when fellow Malaysians get to take up 60 percent of Amanah Saham, then leave the rest for the other minorities.
1Malaysia BN-style is when a portion of the Malaysian population gets to buy a house at a discounted price.
1Malaysia ala BN is when I set up a Sdn Bhd for a learning institution, and I still need to give 30% shares to a certain race.

As far as a minority in Malaysia is concerned, it doesn't feel very One. That's ok, many of us have learnt to accept that one-ness under the BN government is actually one, plus the others.
The others are the rest of the rakyat and the 'One' is an elite group of rich people connected politically. This is Barisan Nasional's One formula.
Malaysia, as envisioned by our great forefathers, is nothing like the 1Malaysia BN is promoting now.
Datuk Onn Jaafar wanted to open up Umno to all races and form one party. He was ousted before he could see that vision become reality.
He was a man ahead of the times, quite unlike his grandson. Today, Datuk Onn would no doubt be on the side of Pakatan Rakyat fighting for justice, freedom and equality for all races.
So would Tunku Abdul Rahman, Bapa Malaysia. This was truly their vision of a One Malaysia.
To the forefathers of Malaya, I salute and thank them for planting this seed in our hearts that one day we would see a united Malaysia in the forefront of technology, science, and business in the international arena. A civil society where there is respect for the constitution and the separation of powers in government.
