Coroner inspects death plunge window

The window which was visited is widely theorised to be the window in which Teoh left the building before plunging to his death on the fifth floor landing.
It is located at a corridor near several interrogation rooms used by the Selangor office of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
During this morning's two-hour visit, coroner Azmil Muntapha Abas (right) and the legal teams also viewed the visitors lounge, pantry, the sofa on which Teoh allegedly slept and the interrogation room where Teoh was questioned.
Following this, the coroner went to the fifteenth floor, also used as a MACC office where a ping-pong table was located.
Later, the team visited the fifth-floor landing where the body was found and a fourth-floor surveillance room.
‘Window very wide'
According to lawyers, parts of the window were missing as they had been taken away by the forensic team.
To questions from reporters, counsel for the Selangor government Malik Imtiaz (left) said that the window was just above waist height before the opening.
"The window could be opened very wide," said Malik when asked if the gap was big enough for a person to fall through. 
He said he peered through the window and could see the location where Teoh's body was found, but cannot conclude if he had exited the window and landed there.
"Nothing is conclusive yet. The purpose of this visit is to allow the Coroner and ourselves (the lawyers) to visualise the scene... but it doesn't take us any closer to an answer," he said.
‘New questions arose'
At the fifth-floor landing, lawyers were seen examining the spot where Teoh's body was found.
According to lawyer Sankara Nair, a slab of concrete said to contain a dent was removed earlier by the police forensic team. 
At the surveillance room, Sankara said the teams viewed screens displaying live CCTV footage. Old footage could not be viewed as the tapes were in the possession of the police.
Counsel for Teoh's family Gobind Singh Deo said at least two questions have arisen from the visit but was tight-lipped about details.
"We have asked the police to conduct further investigation in areas we thought were significant. So the police have started work on that," he said.
Foreign expertise sought
Meanwhile, Gobind revealed that his team has sent pathologists reports and other documents for a second opinion to two specialists one in Thailand and the other in Australia. 
He said that they may be asked to testify at the inquest if necessary.
"We need the weekend to decide on the various opinions... if we have an opinion which we find credible and should be put forward for the coroner's consideration, we will do so," he said.
Gobind (centre) also lamented that police investigations thus far, had been limited to the fact that Teoh either fell to his death or committed suicide.
"When the witnesses come forward, they are bound by police instructions to either say ‘yes or no' on whether the deceased fell or committed suicide.
"They are not looking at the theory that Teoh may have been murdered or pushed off the building. We will pursue this theory. If need be, we will put a request to the coroner to ask police to widen the scope," said Gobind.
The inquest will continue on Monday where the Attorney-General's Chambers is expected to call three government-appointed pathologists to the witness stand.
