The prosecution's application to stop Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim from obtaining documents pertaining to his sodomy charge will be heard tomorrow.

The application was filed by the prosecution yesterday for a stay of execution of a High Court order to supply the documents sought by Anwar.

Yesterday, the prosecution filed the notice of motion for a stay of execution at the Kuala Lumpur High Court pending its appeal to the Court of Appeal.

The prosecution also filed a certificate of urgency for the matter to be heard as soon as possible.

On July 16, Justice Mohamad Zabidin allowed Anwar's application and ordered the prosecution to supply the documents concerned within seven days.

The seven-day period expires on Thursday.

However, Mohamad Zabidin had dismissed Anwar's application to obtain the specimen samples taken from complainant Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.

Anwar, 62, was charged with sodomising his former aide, Mohd Saiful, 24, at a condominium at Bukit Damansara, here on June 26 last year.

The court had fixed July 24 for mention of Anwar's application to set aside the sodomy charge against him and the date for mention of the case.
