I refer to the Road users' view on Kg Buah Pala.

I find the view of the ‘road user’ to be very typical, self-righteous view of some urban middle class. Because he uses a car he thinks that the cows which have been there for hundreds of years, are in his way!

He is in such a hurry that he fails to appreciate the serenity that come from the slow speed zone around the oasis of greeneries at Kg Buah Pala. He did not criticise the speed bumps in the new housing estates, but decry the cows for playing the same functions.

If the ‘traffic problem’ caused by the cows could be a basis of removing Kg Buah Pala then all major roads of KL and Penang should be closed down because there are even more ‘cows’ causing worst and real traffic problems for all people!

The argument by the ‘road user’ is a real ‘lembu’ argument (apologies to the four-legged ones) since he thinks that he is the only taxpaying user of the road while others at the kampung are not! Is he saying that his ringgit notes are bigger or weigh heavier than the others'?

As to the suggestion that the Kampung Buah Pala folks gang up and beat up anyone involving in traffic problem there it would help if the writer provide some specific prove before he get away with spreading his prejudices. The ‘road user’ is certainly so self-centred that he fails to see the misery that has been caused to the 200 residents there. He only see the road ahead of his car. Yet he can't see the other users on the road. What a joke!

Put simply: this is not a ‘road user's view’ - it is simply a heartless piece who try to side the strong and powerful and to rationalise the action of the money-minded developers and politicians. The intention behind the letter is rather pedestrian.
