The air quality in the Klang Valley has declined according to the Department of Environment (DOE) data at 5pm.
The DOE website stated that 54 percent or 27 of the 51 areas monitored recorded a moderate reading compared to this morning which stated that only 29 percent or 15 out of 51 areas recorded a moderate reading.
The air quality in Tanjung Malim, Perak, has however, reached unhealthy levels as the API reading is currently at 107.
Klang Valley worst affected
The data also included that only 44 percent or 22 areas recorded healthy API readings, with the worst affected areas being the Klang Valley (91), followed by Muar (79), Pasir Gudang (59) in Johor, Kuala Terengganu (67) in Terengganu.
However, the air quality in major cities like Shah Alam (62) and Petaling Jaya (59) in Selangor and Cheras (57), Kuala Lumpur remain moderate.
A check with the DOE revealed that the haze was contributed by the hotspots in Sumatra, Indonesia.
