As far as health is concerned, he said he has 'never felt better'.
"It is the work of people who have nothing else to do," Musa was quoted as saying by The Daily Express yesterday.
He was asked to comment on the statements by certain quarters speculating about his health after he did not attend several public functions recently, including the Tadau Kaamatan national open house last Sunday and the Sabah Games opening on Monday.
Musa explained that he went on a brief holiday abroad with his family to get some rest.
The chief minister added that before he left, he had directed the Chief Minister's Department to handle the government's administrative aspects.
He had also asked permission from Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to take leave.
Abuzz with rumours
Last week, Kota Kinabalu was abuzz with rumours about the chief minister's health after it was reported that he had left the state in a private jet belonging to a timber tycoon friend to seek medical treatment for a stress-related problem in Singapore.
One of his harshest critics, opposition Sabah Progressive Party (Sapp) called for an official clarification on the matter.
The party also said that an acting chief minister should be appointed if it is true that Musa is unwell.
Following his brief disappearance, Musa and his wife Faridah Tussin reappeared at the 'Happy Family' celebrations in Kota Kinabalu on Saturday.
According to the chief minister, the state government had allocated about RM1 million for the implementation of various programmes to strengthen the development of families and single mothers in the state.
Also present at the function were State Assembly Speaker Juhar Haji Mahiruddin, Minister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs Azizah Mohd Dun, assistant minister Herbert Timbun Lagadan and state secretary Sukarti Wakiman.
